Mark Benvenuto

B-Man, as he is called by friends and foes alike (it will legally become his name some time in the new millennium), is a highly skilled player who has perhaps the best hands on any Tribe team, ever. Nonetheless, Mark will be the first one to tell you that he doesn’t always work as hard as he should, and when combined with his slow skating style gives his teammates fits when he isn’t on his game. As a member of the newly created "Continental Line", Benvenuto has seen his point totals and plus/minus soar, and he has more reason to flash that "Hollywood" smile of his (he is the recurring character "Muntz" on Beverly Hills 90210). But because of Benvenuto’s on-ice drawbacks and congenial personality, he is the butt of many good natured jokes, which he handles with tact and grace (actually, he wilts like a flower in winter, it’s really quite fun to watch!). Mark has become more of a physical presence on the ice, using his size and strengh....well, his size anyway. And we just can’t forget about that legendary Benvenuto spin-o-rama, which now has a couple exciting new twists, such as a more economical 30 foot arc (down from 40, last season) and a flashy new imaginary coverage of his point man.

Mark is the King Clancy winner for service to the community through the Tribe web page, which is provincially recognized and world renowned.

Famous Quotes:

June 25th, 1997: "Whew, now I can buy that house in PoCo" [spoken just after hearing that while Sean Barron been picked up by another team, B-Man had cleared waivers again]

October 28th, 1998: "Yes John Morris, OK, John Morris, anything you say, John Morris" [B-Man demands for the immediate repair of his Tribe website]

December 2nd, 1998: "I shoot puck...I score....for Marine Plymouth Chrysler" [Mark’s lines in his first commercial after being chosen to replace hold-out Pavel Bure by the sponsor, following a 4 game scoring streak]

 Neat little fact about B-Man:

As the wrestling character "Zeus", B-Man was pinned by teammate Mark Dotto (as the Hulkster) a scant few years ago. Oh, and he likes Dwight Yoakam.
