Colin Weaver

| As one of the originators of the Tribe,
Colin has been through it all, and expectations have always been the most demanding for
the teams long-time captain. Weaver is a natural at the game and moves gracefully
whether hes playing on hardwood, asphalt or ice. Weaver has been criticized for
years for his less-than-sturdy balance and lack of physical play. Weaver certainly
isnt what you would call a heavyweight...or even a cruiserweight
(featherweight" might actually be more...oh, never mind) , but his recent play
certainly qualifies him as "no pansy". Colins hand/eye coordination is
fabulous and he is lethal anywhere near the net. Number 18 has thrived since his return to
centre, pivoting a line between fellow St. Michaels wingers David McCloskey and Mark
Dotto, but if his strong play does not continue, he is fully aware that the "C"
will be ripped off his jersey and he will end up patrolling the blue-line with a certain
"prancing" defenseman. Colin also doubles as team accountant. As team treasurer, Weaver is blitzed with dumb questions after every game. Questions like "You know that money that was due today? Well, whens it due?" and "Can I get it to you in quarters?" are obviously very silly and Weaver should actually punch people for asking them, but he takes time to explain the situation to every Tribe simpleton without exception. Famous Quotes: April 4th, 1997: "Uh yeah, I guess I can handle the money for the team, how bad can it be" [ Volunteering to handle the money after Tribes first ever game, assuming that Tribe was a team full of competent people] April 5th, 1997: "Uh yeah, I guess I can play defence for a little while" [The beginning of a long stint at the blue-line for Weaver] September 3rd, 1998: "No sorry, Steve Ragu, number 12 is retired for Sheldon, 77 is retired for Barron, 44 is retired for Lo....ahh, you can have it" [On how Steve Ragoobarsingh got his number] Various times: "Hmmm, the logistics of the current situation make this pass a difficult but not entirely unachievable venture." [spoken to himself moments before attempting any medium-to-difficult pass in any game since Tribes inception] A neat little fact about Colin: He is very sensitive so never refuse to pass him the puck or laugh at his drawings. |
