Dan Rodgers
|
| A Tribal veteran, Rodgers is having a super
offensive campaign this year and his defensive play has really come around in recent games
(albeit versus opponents that "run" on the ice as opposed to "skating"
on it). Dan is CEO of EA Sports, which basically means that he sits around all day playing
video games and eating pork rinds, but were all very proud of him regardless.
Rodgers is a skilled puck-handler and an intelligent player on the ice, but is prone to
random bouts of sickness that cause him to miss stretches of games. He has been hit with
some of his most deadly viruses lately, including...... a pesky cough, the (dreaded)
occasional runny nose, and ("horrors!") THE SNIFFLES. Fortunately, Dan has
fought through these debilitating conditions and has missed only 20-25 games in the
process. Danny-Boy is a vocal contributor to the dressing room in both positive and
negative respects, but his input and experience are always welcome, except when he insults
the forwards, who are a bunch of overpaid prima donnas that refuse to take responsibility
for their actions....right, Danny? Famous Quotes: December 29th, 1997: "It was the wingers fault. Uh-huh, definitely the wingers fault." [spoken by Rodgers seconds after casually skating the puck in front of his own net and giving it away to an opposing player who easily scored, past a startled Craig Halford]. October 13th, 1998: "Sorry guys, Im gonna be out at least a week" [Dan mistakes a yawn for a symptom of the Bubonic Plague and takes steps to fight off the deadly disease]. November 20th, 1998: "Thank God for the Wolverines!" [Rodgers finally tallies his first goal to accompany a bevy of assists earned earlier this season.] Neat little fact about Danny: In addition to their duties at Electronic Arts, Dan and his business partner, Joel Friggin, run a wildly successful sex shop on the corner of Davie and Denman streets in downtown Vancouver. Dan placed 448th at the recent World Backgammon Championships in Tallahasee, Florida... Way to go, Dan! |
